Feature 1

IT ALL STARTED WHEN...

I applied for and was successful getting a position to work with an Indian company on a construction project in Kuwait. I am one Australian working and living in a camp, in the desert with 4000 men from India.

FEATURE 4

I MADE A NEW BROTHER TODAY, WALID FROM SYRIA ...

As it happens in Kuwait you strike up a conversation with someone, either of you not knowing the others language, but you get bye.  Walid comes from a big family of 10.  I think 5 brothers and 5 Sisters, wow. Walid is next to me, and one of Walids brothers is next to him and the youngest brother took the photo - how cool to have all your family so close to you.

FEATURE 7

At the start of every month a van comes to the camp and pulls up where roughly 4000 workers spend at least an hour standing in 45 degree heat waiting to get see the one of the three guys sitting in the back of the van. Why is this monthly ritual so important?

Feature 2

ONE OF THE THINGS YOU DON'T APPRECIATE...

Walking around at ground level, is how big this camp is, at 1000 meters long and 500 meters wide, thats 500,000 sq. meters or nearly 100 American Football fields. Eventually there will be around 10,000 guys leaving here for the Companies two projects in Kuwait.

This gentleman's name is Mubarak, when he saw my camera over my shoulder he was ready for a photo and thats how the story started.

Growing up in Cairo Egypt as a young boy, Mostafa loved playing football and with the playstation his mother gave him, which he still has, and treasures.

FEATURE 10

Working at the Resort for over six years, Shyam started at the bottom of his department, now with three promotions under he belt is Chief Concierge. Wether it's sending laundry off to get cleaned, driving guests to the air port, helping guests to their rooms or making sure everything nothing is left behind. All in a days work, confident in his role, never stressed, at least on the outside :-)
