Over Christmas I made a trip to the Doctor for a regular check up. My fasting (at least 8 hours) blood test results came back 5.9 mmol/L which is prediabetes.
When fasting after 8 hours normal results are between 4 to 5.4 mmol/L
Testing 2 hours after a meal a normal result can be up to 7.8 mmol/L
After being on a strict diet for 11 days I decided to see how my blood sugar results had changed.
Fasting after 8 hours 4.6 mmol/L (4 to 5.4 normal) - NORMAL
Testing after 2 hour meals 6.0 mmol/L (up to 7.8 normal) - NORMAL
So I guess the weight loss and healthy diet has paid off, or I never really had a problem in the first place.
