Kuwait Rural Veterinarians

North of Kuwait City near the Iraqi border lies the the rural township of Abdaly. Within Abdaly sits the busy and thriving Animal Hospital supported by four Veterinarians from Egypt, Drs Ahmad (Mgr.), Dr Khaled, Dr Emad and Dr Sayed together with their support staff. During the Kuwaiti winter from October to January the vets are on duty every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with only a short rest in the middle of the day.

This series of photo essays inspired by W. Eugene Smith’s Country Doctor follows the work of these highly dedicated men, “The Country Vets.”
